What FileChomp handles when you use the site.

Files, links, and settings

Selected image files and their names are processed on your device. FileChomp does not receive or store them. If you paste a direct image URL, your browser requests it from that host, which may receive ordinary request data such as your IP address. Quality, size, and background preferences may be saved in your browser; clear this site's data to remove them.

Site requests and email

The hosting service may receive ordinary request and security logs, such as your IP address, browser, requested page, and time. If you email us, we use your address and message to reply. Do not attach a private file unless you mean to share it.

Analytics, advertising, and your choices

This site carries no advertising, and nothing is measured unless you switch Analytics on yourself. Refusing is one press, costs nothing, and leaves every tool working exactly as it does now. To ask about, access, correct, or remove personal data from a message or a site request, email support@filechomp.online.

If you turn Analytics on, FileChomp uses Google Analytics 4 to record which tool was opened; whether a header or catalog search found a matching tool; whether files supplied through the device picker, drag and drop, or a direct link became ready or were rejected for a fixed reason; whether the tool finished or failed and for which fixed reason; aggregate file counts; and whether a result was downloaded. A picker closed without a selection, including an unchanged same-file selection, is not recorded as a failure. Search text, file names, file contents, local paths, pasted URLs, previews, and exact file details are never sent. Nothing is recorded while Analytics is off, and it is off until you turn it on.

Analytics data is kept in Google Analytics for 2 months and is then deleted automatically. The record of your own choice stays in this browser until you clear this site's data.

You can change or withdraw the choice at any time through Privacy choices, in the footer of every page. Withdrawing switches Analytics and Marketing off again and stops any further collection. It does not erase what was already collected; to ask for that, email support@filechomp.online.

Cookies and browser storage

FileChomp sets no cookie of its own. Two things are kept in this browser and never leave it: the record of your privacy choice, and the quality, background, and size preferences from the output settings. If you turn Analytics on, Google Analytics sets its own cookies so that repeat visits are not counted as new people; refusing or withdrawing keeps them from being set. Clear this site's data to remove everything stored here.
